Great actor, he could play many roles, originally he was born in Mexico, and emigrated to the US, but he played a pantheon of nationalities, ranging from Mexican to Eskimo, Greek, Italian, Arab, French, Panamanian, Hawaiian, Chinese, Japanese and East Indian, and maybe others I don’t recall.
And in the early stages of his film work he was the American Indian being pursued by the cavalry or cowboys in several forgettable Westerns. 🙂
